How to Register a Death

  1. Obtain Burial Permit

    Get a burial permit from the hospital (if death occurred there) or the area Chief (if at home).

  2. Visit Registrar

    Visit the local Civil Registration Office or Huduma Centre with the burial permit and deceased's ID.

  3. Surrender ID

    You must surrender the original National ID card of the deceased for cancellation.

  4. Pay & Collect

    Pay the nominal fee. The certificate is usually issued after verification.
